Job Description
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission. The Visual Designer position is directly accountable to the Chief Communications Officer for the following duties and responsibilities :
Oversee all design elements, from the conception to final delivery.
Deliver innovative, quality print and digital designs consistent with the college's graphics standards.
Maintain a consistent look and level of quality for all publications.
Identify the required specifications and format of printed publications for in-house work and work sent to commercial printers.
Develop and design a wide range of printed and digital materials including, brochures, programs, newsletters, flyers, advertisements, social media graphics and web highlights.
Assist Graphic Services personnel in all functions as needed.
As a part of the college's risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic / Commercial Art with four (4) to six (6) years of relevant experience OR applicable combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of graphic design, typography, production methods and preparation of projects for printing and web use.
Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat) preferably in a Macintosh environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
Ability to work under pressure, handle several projects concurrently and work closely with college administrative and academic personnel.
An understanding of print production and digital printing technologies as it relates to preparing and sending files to print.
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
