This is a grant-funded position with an anticipated grant end date of September 30, 2026, with the possibility of the grant being renewed by the U.S. Department of Labor.Position SummaryThe Director of YouthBuild is the key leader of a nationally accredited program and is a management position, providing supervision and leadership to the educational, clinical, and volunteer staff who support participants through a comprehensive academic, vocational, and pathways training program. The YouthBuild Director coordinates and oversees the educational, leadership development, counseling, and workforce components of this project. The Director has the overall responsibility to maintain the vitality of YouthBuild program operations, ensuring that programs and services meet and maintain a standard of excellence and that participants are provided with access to the skills they need to be successful members of their communities.This position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency’s mission through planning and directing the major activities of the program; supervising program staff and volunteers; working with participants; ensuring the educational, vocational and / or job placement of YouthBuild graduates in coordination with other YouthBuild staff; and performing administrative duties including budgeting and expense monitoring; overseeing the collection of data; preparing program reports; and conducting ongoing evaluation of and improvements in program activities.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise the daily operations of the YouthBuild program, including the coordination of the education, construction, life skills, job placement, leadership, community service, placement, follow-up services, support services, and case management components.Ensure the design and delivery of a quality comprehensive YouthBuild program including all program components.Contribute to the design and development of programming using research, knowledge and experience, best practice, and community demand along with financial and human resources available.Develop and implement a program participant recruitment strategy.Monitor and improve programming and conduct program reviews.Contribute to quality assurance through ensuring that standards are followed within the program including compliance with program standards, grant requirements, state requirements, industry credentialing requirements, and programs are in compliance with the Agency’s policies.Manage the YouthBuild contract(s) and budget, including ensuring allowability of costs, tracking expenses, and appropriately distributing and documenting participant support funding.Manage all grant reporting and data tracking per Department of Labor YouthBuild and YouthBuild USA requirements.Ensure accurate and timely reporting and that project is meeting program outcomes.Cultivate and maintain community partnerships to achieve YouthBuild outcomes; manage Memorandums of Agreements (MOAs) and other key collaborations.Effectively develop and manage provider relations including stakeholders such as the DOL, YouthBuild USA, and the AJC.Develop systems and program operations in conjunction with YouthBuild and other agency staff and participants.Maintain a focus on continuous quality improvement.Provide for the appropriate training of staff for the purpose of developing expertise and proficiency in particular areas such as youth development, family systems, and system navigation.Participate in DOL and YouthBuild USA committees, training opportunities, and events as needed.Oversee the development of the annual budget and monitor the performance of the budget and implement corrective action as needed.Effectively use technology to increase the efficiency of the program through the identification of opportunities for automation, and participation in the development of databases.Complete and submit all Quarterly Narrative and Quarterly Performance reports in the GPMS and WIPS as required by DOL.Manage the GPMS reporting system.Perform other duties as assigned.Financial AccountabilityHas effective fiscal management of the development of the annual program budget, monitoring expenses and census / caseload as well as instituting corrective actions.Contributes to annual program expansion plans through providing cooperation to management.Work EnvironmentAll duties involve working in and around central Agency administrative offices, at the program site and in the community, requiring some travel.Position involves operation of a motor vehicle to conduct Agency business on a frequent basis for purposes such as to transport clients, to travel to appointments and meetings or to run errands. A good driving record is required.Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and driving, typing and lift material up to 25 pounds. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with family visitation, e.g. climb stairs, etc.Core hours are M-F 8 : 00 to 5 : 00 with some flexibility required.SupervisionSupervision of all YouthBuild staff including volunteers, providing instruction, feedback and guidance, performance reviews, maintenance of records, and supervise self-care.Minimum RequirementsMaster's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Education or related field.At least three / five years of experience successfully working with opportunity youth or young adults in a job training program.OR Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Education or related field, AND extensive related experience.Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrated ability in youth development, employment training and / or familiarity with YouthBuild model.Public speaking skills and excellent listening and written communication skills.Willingness to learn from young people.Experience with WIOA programs.Experience with federally-funded programs.Follow applicable professional codes of ethics.In addition, comply fully with all relevant licensing, certification, accreditation and legal standards as required by the agency, contracts, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Knowledge of child welfare practices, child development, family systems, domestic violence, substance abuse and the cycle of poverty.Ability to work in a team environment required.Computer proficient.Other : Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain throughout employment.Job Type : Full-timePay : $25.00 per hourExpected hours : 40 per weekBenefits : 401(k) matchingEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountRetirement planSchedule : 8 hour shiftDay shiftWork Location : In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
