Job Description
Lincoln Northwest High School is seeking a dynamic educator to build and provide leadership for the softball program. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, as well as the desire and ability to develop positive relationships with student-participants, families, and the LPS community. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the sport of softball and the ability to enhance the ongoing development and improvement of the softball program.
LPS head coaches are required to organize and lead practices, regular season and district contests and performances (not to exceed NSAA/LPS allowances); facilitate, manage and provide oversight of the program; maintain required certification and requirements of the position; and lead their teams in NSAA state championship preparation and performances if the team or individuals qualify.
LPS has a long tradition of academic, athletic and activity excellence. Belief in the value of educational-based athletics is critical.
Requires teacher and/or coach who holds a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or a Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Coaching Permit.
Knowledge and understanding of NSAA and LPS policies and bylaws is required.
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
