Risk Management Specialist
Location: Admin | 681 Center St. NE, Salem OR 97301
Job Status: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4pm
Salary: DOE, $24.10, $30.15, $36.20
YOUR ROLE:
This position identifies and manages clinical risks, focusing on maintaining HHS funding and Federal PHS deemed status. Serves as the HRSA/FTCA Risk Manager, providing oversight and support to leadership and staff on risk management liabilities and obligations. Ensures staff compliance with HRSA/FTCA regulations and maintains program processes, policies, monitoring plans, and training. Monitors and reports on HRSA/FTCA risk management outcomes, supporting NWHS operations and regulatory compliance. Collaborates with the Compliance Director and staff on data analysis, process improvement, training, and timely reporting.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Complete HRSA/FTCA Clinical Risk Management training and stay updated on relevant webinars, toolkits, and guidance to maintain the agency's risk management program.
- Collect, consolidate, and maintain data for HRSA/FTCA reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the Claims Management process by reviewing and updating policies and tools, and support FTCA Claims management for timely submissions.
- Monitor the agency’s risk management activities and ensure compliance in high-risk areas, including clinical staff training, diagnostic tracking, credentialing, quality improvement, and patient safety issues.
- Prepare timely internal and external reports, including the HRSA/FTCA annual Risk Management Plan and quarterly updates, and support reporting for the Strategic Plan and Board of Directors meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in risk management, healthcare, human services fields, or similar. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a social service, administration, and/or clinical setting.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.
- Ability to understand and analyze data, implement risk management activities, and produce deliverables accurately and timely.
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team-oriented environment.
