Primary Purpose:
Provide Level 1 support for assigned campus(es) which includes performing on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district. Responds to work order requests by diagnosing computer hardware and software and escalating problems as necessary to assigned Technician Assistant. Assist faculty members of assigned campus(es) with network login issues. Maintain inventory of technology assets.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze and resolve computer hardware and software problems
- Knowledge of technologies available for use in instructional settings
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
- Ability to install and maintain computers and peripherals, including printers, scanners and portable devices
- Some experience installing and maintaining computers and peripherals
- Experience in an educational environment preferred
- Strong organization and communication skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide technical assistance to campus faculty and staff for use of equipment including computer hardware and software.
- Provide immediate on-site assistance to campus staff with technology problems and questions.
- Act as liaison with district technology personnel.
- Maintain computers in campus lab(s) and classrooms and arrange for needed repair through work order system.
- Perform upgrades to software and hardware.
- Assist with the organization and distribution of technology materials for classroom and campus use.
- Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
- Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software and computer lab materials at assigned campus(es).
- Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing and carrying.
- Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that cannot be corrected to the supervisor immediately.
- Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with campus staff.
- Provide responsive and customer orientated services to campus staff.
- Monitor repair data and work to provide preventative solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Hand tools, personal computers and peripherals, including projectors, scanners and printers.
Working Conditions:
Position requires frequent climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, pulling, overhead reaching, keyboarding and kneeling; lifting of 50 lbs., frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test equipment; occasional district wide travel as necessary.
