Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Powerline Instructor to join our team at the Northwest Iowa Community College. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical transmission line training and be able to teach students in a variety of settings.
Key Duties:
- Conduct instruction in pole climbing, electrical theory, transformers, safety, utility equipment operation, underground/overhead high voltage electrical systems, and line maintenance.
- Develop and maintain current course syllabi/outlines for assigned courses.
- Counsel, advise, and/or refer students as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma/Associate of Applied Science Degree from accredited Powerline Program or completion of a formal Journeyman Lineman Program.
- Five years related work experience in all phases of utility work, including overhead and underground construction and related activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in electrical theory, transformers, safety, utility equipment operation, underground/overhead high voltage electrical systems, and line maintenance.
