5-Star Northwest Medical Homes, LLC (formerly known as Springfield Family Physicians) is looking for an energetic and hardworking MOA/CMA to join our growing, busy family practice office. Interest in learning how to scribe is preferred.
A medical assistant's daily duties and responsibilities include:
Preparing patients for examinations, treatments, or procedures
Chart preparation to look for recommended preventative services, immunizations and labs
Taking and recording patient's medical histories, vital signs, or information such as test results in medical records
Assisting providers during physical examinations and procedures
Administering medications or treatments under the supervision of a healthcare professional
Collecting samples for laboratory tests
Scheduling patient appointments, managing patient flow, and managing appointment scheduling EMR
Perform basic laboratory tests and preparing specimens for laboratory testing
Handle patient's inquiries, billing, and insurance information
Maintaining stock of medical supplies and equipment, performing sterilization of instruments
Good communication skills and working as an effective team member
Time management and efficient prioritizing
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of the work environment
Perform administrative duties such as answering phones and managing patient records
Working knowledge of vaccine schedule and administration
Proficiency with computers
Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality following HIPAA guidelines
Other duties, under the direction of a supervisor
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Must be able to stand for up to 1 hour
EMR experience is ideal but not necessary. Must be a team player, punctual, able to work well with others, and be patient-centered.
This is a full-time position. Hours are Monday-Friday with occasional evenings (12pm-8pm) and Saturdays (9am-5pm), 40 hours a week. Will help obtain CMA certification. Outstanding benefits including medical, dental and a generous 401K/Pension Plan. Competitive wages.
