The Finance Manager provides leadership and oversight of everything related to finance, accounting and auditing within Northwest Medical Specialties.
Essential Duties include:
- Oversight of all financial accounting and reporting, including but not limited to: payroll, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, oral pharmacy, bank reconciliation and shareholder (MD Comp) reporting.
- Prepare monthly shareholder reports and work with outside accountants for timely completion and distribution.
- Manage Treasury functions including bank relations, debt compliance and cash management.
- File or assist with filing tax returns on a timely basis, including 1099 reporting.
- Support all audit requests.
- Assure internal controls are adequate and being maintained.
- Prepare annual operating budget and report on actual performance versus budget.
- Manage and monitor health and welfare insurance programs and enrollment process.
- Coordinate financial analysis with Data and Analytics staff.
- Maintain and monitor balance sheet account analyses.
- Maintain and organize a library of all legal documents.
- Create reports and evaluate internal reporting systems, distributing monthly financial and operating reports on a timely basis.
- Assure that corporate insurance policies are adequate and up to date.
- Report all financial audit discrepancies or findings to upper management.
- Hire, train, and manage departmental staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, preferably in accounting, finance or management from an accredited college or university
- Ten (10) years of direct, progressive, responsible financial management experience, five (5) of which must be in accounting and include five (5) years of supervisory experience.
- Healthcare industry experience preferable.
- Excellent oral and written communications, and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with shareholders, management team, general staff and outside stakeholders
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and methods of financial accounting, budgeting, auditing, risk management, benefits administration and treasury functions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the laws, regulations, and standards pertaining to financial management.
- Ability to effectively monitor and assure the high-level performance of the Finance/Accounting Department.
- Excellent working knowledge of and skilled use of reporting, analytic and communication software tools.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and timely completion of assignments.
