Position: Lead Press Operator
Status: Full-time
Salary: $28-$35/hr., DOE, Relocation assistance available
Hours: Days & Evenings, 8–10-hour shifts.
Location: Spokane Valley, WA.
About this role: This position serves to lead press crews in achieving precision configuration of paper, plate, ink, and press to meet daily production targets for volume and exceptional quality across all printed publications.
What you'll do: Master operation of all press machinery which may include pallet jacks, forklifts, clamp trucks, stacking machines, under-wrap, and strapping machines, roll stand, folder, and press tower unit equipment, etc. In addition, you will enter information into a shop floor data collection system, utilize loupe to monitor and adjust registration, use a conductivity meter to check water balance, use ink densitometers to verify color, and create impositions for color presets.
- Master all duties required of Second Press Operator
- Master computerized ink settings and manual water balance throughout press runs.
- Demonstrate mastery of the entire printing process for optimum overall print quality results.
- Demonstrate an aptitude for comprehensive team appreciation, motivation, and cooperation.
- Work closely with shift supervision toward successful accomplishment of all shift requirements.
- Accomplish shift goals by leading Second Operators, Roll Tenders, and stacker personnel.
- Follow all companywide and department specific safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you'll contribute to our team:
- AA degree in a related field or proven mechanical abilities required.
- Four or more years’ experience in the commercial printing trade preferred.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and advanced experience in commercial printing.
- Calm temperament and proven collaborative communication skills.
- Basic computer skills in spreadsheet and word processing preferred.
