What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Evening Cleaner/ Meat Packager position at Northwest Premium Meats?
Northwest Premium Meats in Nampa, ID is looking for one part time meat packager/ evening cleaner to join our 18 person strong team. We are located on 137 N Happy Valley Rd. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and engaged. This is a mid-shift position. Employee will start work in our packaging department until packaging in complete for the day and then join another employee performing sanitation operations.
Packaging role is paid hourly, typically starting at 10am until complete, and after clocking out the sanitation assignment is paid on a per-day rate. Packaging role is eligible for production bonuses every pay period after first 30 days of employment. Opportunities for additional duties and advancement for the right employee.
Responsibilities Packaging
- Perform packaging of meat cuts from various species, including Bison, Beef, Lamb, Hog, Rabbit and more.
- Accurately label products for resale
- Place products into boxes or crates as required
- Maintain sanitary conditions
- Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure food safety
- Work as a member of a team
- Occasionally lift boxes or crates weighing 50lbs or more
- Occasionally place product into or retrieve product from freezers
- Occasionally interact with customers picking up orders
Responsibilities Sanitation
- Conduct sanitation operations at the end of each shift
- Utilize commercial grade chemicals in a safe and effective manner
- Clean all production areas, including floors, walls and equipment
- Utilize a hot-water pressure washer to rinse all surfaces
- Follow instructions for cleaning specialized equipment
- Take out trash to dumpster
- Prepare room and equipment for USDA inspection at use
Qualifications
- Motivated to learn independently and work in a dynamic environment
- Previous experience packaging meat a plus
- Willing to work flexible hours as needed
- Punctual and reliable
- Must be 18 years old
