ABOUT THE JOB
Becoming a PROGRAM LEADER & DRIVER in NWSRA's weekly programs is a great way to improve supervision skills, learn new jobs functions, and inspire participants to grow and have fun. As a Program Leader you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Supervise Program Staff and Volunteer in programs.
- Implement program lessons and adapt programs as needed.
- Supervise and encourage individuals with disabilities in recreation programs.
- Ensure the safety, behavior management and involvement of participants in activities.
- Promote good relations with participants, parents, coworkers, park district employees and community contacts.
- Drive agency vehicles while transporting and transferring participants.
- Complete all required Driver paperwork and inspections.
- Assist in cleaning vehicles and maintain contents.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED
- To be a Program Leader & Driver you must be 21 years of age or older.
- Have previous supervisor experience.
- Have an interest and/or experience working with children with disabilities.
- Have a valid Driver’s License, with no moving violations in the past 24 months. CDL preferred but not required.
- Certification in First Aid & CPR preferred. Wiling to become certified required.
- Pass a Drug Test, Driver Physical, Drivers’ Abstract and Criminal Background Check.
- No experience is necessary, but a desire to learn and be a team player is required.

All positions are part-time and work schedules may range from a minimum of 1 hour per week up to 25 hours per week. Scheduling is assigned at the beginning of each program season, yet hours are flexible and can be adjusted per season. Reliable transportation is required to ensure attendance at all scheduled programs. When committing to work in a program you must be able to work all program dates for the entire season.
