What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Director - 2025 Summer Camp position at Northwest Special Recreation Association?
Becoming a SITE DIRECTOR in NWSRA's Summer Camps is a great way to improve supervision skills, learn new jobs functions, and inspire participants to grow and have fun.
As a Site Director you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Supervise Camp Counselors and Volunteer in programs.
- Implement camp lesson plans and adapt programs as needed.
- Supervise and encourage individuals with disabilities in recreation programs.
- Ensure the safety, behavior management and involvement of campers in activities.
- Promote good relations with campers, parents, coworkers, park district employees and community contacts.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED
- To be a Site Director you must be 21 years of age or older.
- Have previous supervisor experience.
- Have an interest and/or experience working with children with disabilities.
- No experience is necessary, but a desire to learn and be a team player is required.

All positions are Seasonal and work schedules may range from a minimum of 4 hours per week up to 40 hours per week. Schedules are assigned at the start of each summer session, yet hours are flexible and can be adjusted. Reliable transportation is required to ensure attendance at all scheduled programs. When committing to work in camp you should be able to work all camp dates for the entire session.
