What are the responsibilities and job description for the INFECTION PREVENTION NURSE (RN) - QUALITY/IP position at Northwest Specialty Hospital?
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Nurse (RN) to join our Quality team!
This position will be 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm (scheduled hours flexible)
The Infection Prevention Nurse serves as an organization-wide specialist in the design, development, evaluation and review of infection prevention and control ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and Joint Commission. The Infection Prevention Coordinator coordinates and monitors the provision of these programs throughout the organization by demonstrating leadership, creativity, initiative and collaborative problem-solving. This position is responsible for planning and engagement in disease and health event surveillance, investigation, and assessment activities, and serves as a resource person to educate staff, leaders, and physicians to facilitate and gain compliance in the area of infection prevention and control in all areas of the facility. The Infection Prevention Coordinator will need to project a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of the Hospital, patients, and employees as appropriate.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Idaho is required.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills along with attention to detail. Must be highly organized and able to focus on the task at hand.
- Possesses critical thinking and analytic skills.
- Demonstrates ability to work autonomously.
- Understands medical terminology and quality improvement processes.
- Current AHA BLS.
- ACLS Certification within 6 months of employment.
