What are the responsibilities and job description for the SECURITY GUARD - DAYS position at Northwest Specialty Hospital?
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Security Guard to join the team!
** This position will likely work three 12-hour shifts per week from 4:00 am - 4:30 pm **
In this role you will be responsible for protecting staff, patients, and visitors and ensuring that all hospital property is secure. Duties will include patrolling the building and its grounds, monitor badging, monitor all activity in and out of the hospital, responding to code calls, and endeavor to prevent vandalism, theft, fire, and disturbances within the facility. This position must be on the lookout for all sorts of issues at the hospital, including maintenance issues, which may compromise people’s safety or the integrity of the building. This position will also assist leadership with incident command, emergency management planning, and safety training and planning. Must be able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina, and endurance. This position will also work closely with other departments as needed, to ensure the security of the facility, staff, and patients. The Security Guard will need to project a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of the Hospital, patient, and employees as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- FEMA Training to be complete within 3 months of hire.
- Successful completion of Hospital Security Officers Basic Training Program and receipt of certificate through the International Association for Hospital Security and Safest Foundation within 6 months of hire.
- MOAB Certification within 12 months of hire.
- Previous security experience preferred; healthcare or hospital security experience is a plus.
