What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant- Food Services (PT) position at Northwest State Community College?
Normal Weekly Hours: for months per year plus summer days based on department needs. Normal working hours are between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday – Friday; hours/days will vary due to operational situations, such as catering, which can include evenings and weekends.
GENERAL PURPOSE
Assist supervisor and cook in all food service operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation, serving, order taking, and selling of food at the various food service sites.
- Short order cooking and frying.
- Bake cookies, slice meat, prepare vegetables, and fruits.
- Catering: set-up, serving, and clean-up.
- Washing, drying, and storing of dishes, pots, and pans, as needed for department efficiency.
- Other similar duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Follow directions and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift, on occasion, up to 50 pounds, operate cash register, and make correct change is required.
- This job also requires stretching, bending, and lifting.
- Mechanical ability is helpful.
- Interpersonal skills along with a customer service focus are an important part of this position.
