Want to make a difference in someone's life? Looking for a PT schedule working 24-32 hours/week? You would be working with adult individuals with developmental disabilities that live in their own homes in Thurston County. Caregiving experience is helpful but not necessary! We provide 75 hours of paid training by experienced staff (All training is done during the daytime on Zoom- must be able to access and use Zoom). We are looking for people with at least one year experience working with IDDM clients with challenging/high behaviors and/or mental health issues. You must be knowledgeable, trained, and skilled in working with IDDM clients who escalate in significant high behavior.
Key Responsibilities
•Assisting individuals with their personal care- bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting/personal hygiene
•Daily tasks include light housekeeping, laundry, and keeping the home comfortable and safe.
•Plan meals, shopping for groceries, preparing and serving meals/snacks.
•Accompany individuals to scheduled medical appointments.
•Accompany individuals on fun community activities (movies, swimming, bowling, trips to the beach, shopping at the mall, etc.)
•Assist individuals with self-administration of medications.
•Document services provided using computer.

Requirements:
· Be at least 18 Years or older
· Be able to pass a Washington State Criminal Background Check and complete fingerprints by hire date.
· Be able to provide high school diploma or high school transcript or GED.
· Be able to lift up to 50 lbs., twist, turn, sit, stand for periods of time, see and hear our individuals.
· Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Have basic computer skills.
· Have good problem-solving skills working as a team.
· Must have at least 1 year experience as a DSP working with high behavior IDD/MI clients (this is not an elder care position).
