Position Overview:
As the General Litigation Counsel, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's legal matters and providing legal advice and support to the organization. You will work closely with the executive team and other departments to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and protect the company's interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all litigation matters for the company, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal research, and representing the company in court proceedings
- Provide legal advice and support to the executive team and other departments on various legal issues, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and compliance
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with all laws and regulations
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, vendors, and other third parties
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company and provide guidance and recommendations to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with external counsel and other legal professionals as needed
- Conduct internal investigations and provide recommendations for resolution of legal disputes
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as government agencies and industry associations
- Manage and maintain legal records and documentation
- Assist with the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to legal matters
- Participate in legal training and education programs for employees to ensure understanding and compliance with legal requirements
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the state of [insert state]
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation attorney, preferably in a corporate or law firm setting
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to business operations, contracts, employment, and intellectual property
