Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and analyze sleep studies, including overnight polysomnograms, multiple sleep latency tests, and maintenance of wakefulness tests
- Monitor patients during sleep studies and make adjustments to equipment as needed
- Record and analyze data, including brain waves, eye movements, heart rate, and breathing patterns
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret results and make treatment recommendations
- Educate patients on sleep disorders and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all sleep studies and patient information
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols
- Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and new technologies in sleep medicine
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Polysomnography program
- Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Polysomnographer
- Knowledge of sleep disorders, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient in using sleep study equipment and software
