Department Buntain School of Nursing Reports To Dean, Buntain School of Nursing Appointment August 15, 2024 Close Date Open Until Filled Classification Faculty, Full-Time (Tenure Track)Position SummaryThe Buntain School of Nursing at Northwest University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant / Associate Professor position to begin in August 2024. The ideal candidate will possess a doctorate in nursing and have a proven track record as an adept teacher of undergraduate students. Master's degree in nursing and applicable experience will also be considered. This full-time position involves teaching 24 credits per year.Candidates must possess a meaningful commitment to Jesus Christ, the church, and the Gospel. We are seeking someone with a winsome, encouraging and culturally engaged faith. Candidates with experience and evidence of mentoring diverse students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds in the sciences, are preferred.Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Members of underrepresented groups are highly encouraged to apply.Essential FunctionsTeach courses in the School of Nursing.Advise School of Nursing students.Work with the Curriculum and Evaluation Committee and the Dean to revise curriculum as needed.Participate in the governance functions of the School of Nursing as assigned.Participate in the governance functions of the university as assigned.Engage in scholarship related to his or her field of study.QualificationsThe successful candidate : Doctorate in Nursing or related field.Master's degree in nursing and applicable experience considered.Successful candidate(s) must have an active and unencumbered Washington Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for obtaining a Washington RN license. Washington RN license required prior to start date.Has current clinical experience of at least three years in the clinical subject area being taught.Has a demonstrated record of successful teaching of nursing skills, concepts, and critical thinking.Has experience or course work relating to curriculum development, course-creation, and / or designing significant improvements to courses or curricula.A demonstrated, vibrant evangelical faith compatible with the mission of Northwest University.Willingness to apply a faith-based worldview to course design, instruction, and advising.Seeks opportunities to increase understanding of cross-cultural nursing.Indicates a commitment to helping students to achieve overarching nursing program outcomes and learning objectives specific to the courses taught.Establishes and maintains positive relationships with students, faculty, university staff, clinical site personnel and its clients / patients, and the general constituency of the University.Models best instructional practices in the classroom, on-line, clinical and / or skills lab setting.Continually develops professional skills in aspiring students through coaching, modeling, evaluation, feedback, and direct instruction.CompensationDependent on education and experience and based upon the established faculty salary schedule starting at the respective professor rank.
