Conservation Crew Leader - Summer Youth Camping Crews (Leavenworth, WA)

Location : Based out of Lake Wenatchee, WA but local housing is not needed as crews camp together onsite for their entire session. Project locations generally include national forests, national parks, wilderness areas.

Session 1 : June 21- July 26, 2025

Session 2 : August 2- August 30, 2025

Position Overview :

We have current leadership openings for our Washington camping programs. Our camping crews are fully immersive residential programs for both youth (16-19 year olds) and young adults (19 ). We are currently hiring leaders for our Youth Camping Program. Crew leaders oversee field operations and provide a meaningful experience for our participants and deliver conservation work expectations set by our partners.

Northwest Youth Corps leaders perform many roles and are the key to our program's success. They understand that being a leader is much more than being a boss. They have the drive, commitment, and mental toughness to carry them through the unexpected challenges that arise at the most inopportune of times; a remote location with bad weather, in the middle of trying to complete a mile of new trail, finish a bridge, or eradicate an invasive species. The position is multi-faceted and demanding, but with opportunity for enormous rewards. Successful leaders demonstrate high standards, good sense, excellent judgment, and the desire to devote themselves to the crew and program alike. The leader position requires physical aptitude, mental fortitude, and a high level of comfort in the outdoors.

Compensation : $100 / daily during training; $130 / daily, $135 / daily as a returner or WEMT / WFR; $140 / daily as a returner and WEMT / WFR.
