Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Conservation Crew Leader to oversee field operations and provide a meaningful experience for our participants. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering conservation work expectations set by our partners, while ensuring the safety and well-being of our crew members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of conservation workers in various projects, including trail maintenance, habitat restoration, and invasive species management.
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Provide guidance, training, and feedback to crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 20 years old.
- Current Wilderness First Aid (or higher) and CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to employment start date.
- Recreational/professional outdoor experience, accustomed to living for periods of time without modern conveniences.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- Experience/desire in working with diverse populations.
- Current Driver's License and ability to pass background checks.
Benefits
Northwest Youth Corps offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
- $100 daily during training;
- $130 daily, $135 daily as a returner or WEMT/WFR; $140 daily as a returner and WEMT/WFR.
