Job Title: Interpretation & Education Intern
The Idaho Conservation Corps and Northwest Youth Corps are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Interpretation & Education Intern at Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument in Hagerman, ID.
This 36-week (1,440 HR) position is ideal for students or young professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in interpretation, education, and conservation. The successful candidate will work closely with park rangers and other staff members to develop and implement educational programs, conduct guided tours, and assist with special events.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and leading educational programs for visitors of all ages
- Conducting guided tours of the monument's fossil beds, trails, and scenic areas
- Assisting with special events, such as festivals and concerts
- Collaborating with park rangers to create engaging exhibits and displays
- Participating in conservation efforts, including habitat restoration and invasive species management
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must be enrolled in a degree-granting program or have graduated within the past year. Prior experience in interpretation, education, or conservation is not required, but strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
