Position Summary:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at John Day Lock & Dam is seeking two (2) 480-hour AmeriCorps members to join our team as Natural Resource Stewardship AmeriCorps Members.
Job Description:
As a Natural Resource Stewardship AmeriCorps Member, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to perform a variety of tasks related to natural resource management and conservation.
- Assist with invasive species removal and control efforts;
- Conduct habitat restoration and maintenance activities;
- Participate in water quality monitoring and sampling;
- Support outreach and education programs to promote environmental awareness and stewardship;
- Perform other duties as assigned by project staff.
Instructions:
Members will be required to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
AmeriCorps members must commit to serving for the full term of their service, which is 480 hours over a period of approximately six months.
