Position Title: Invasive Weed Management AmeriCorps Member

Position Summary:
East Zone Range is recruiting two 480 Hour AmeriCorps members beginning Mid-May or early June. This person would be helping with invasive weed control and potentially range management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This person would be helping with our invasive weed control and potentially range management Specific activities include:
- Spray and treat noxious and invasive weeds and record all data associated with treatments using tablets. Monitor results and look for biocontrol opportunities. (75%)
- Help with permit administration (5%)
- Monitor domestic and big horn sheep separation. (20%)

Required Qualifications:
- Ages 18-30 (up to 35 for veterans)
- S. Citizen or lawful, permanent resident
- Must pass a background/driver check
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Driver's License
- Idaho State professional applicators licenses - work time to study, and complete after hiring
Desired Qualifications:
- Plant Identification Skills
- Government Driver's License for trucks 10,000 - 26,000lbs, can get after hired
- Personal transportation
Duty Location:
Duties are performed within New Meadows and McCall Ranger Districts, Payette National Forest.
Terms of Employment:
One AmeriCorps member will complete a term of service (length dependent on commitment of hours), starting May through August 2025. The member must complete a minimum of 480 service hours by the end of their term. The member will receive a 30-minute lunch each day and this lunch break does not count towards AmeriCorps member service hours. Training will not exceed 20% of total member service hours.
Program Benefits:
$7,680 living allowance dispersed on a monthly basis and upon successful completion of program requirements, education award amount of $1,956.35. The position will also include a $194.12 gear reimbursement fund. Housing may be provided.
The living allowance and education award are taxable. Members are responsible for providing their own food. Service eligibility is contingent upon the results of a criminal and driving background check.
