Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking School Based Behavior Consultants to provide consultation on school wide and individualized behavior plans for students. Opportunities in either elementary, middle, or high schools are now available! This is a 208-day contracted position which primarily follows the school schedule – this means generous paid time off!
Responsibilities include:
- Assessment, creation, facilitation, and implementation of therapeutic, educational, and behavioral interventions for students within their schools and communities.
- Actively making recommendations to providers for programming along with training, guiding, and supporting educational and behavioral staff, families, home and community-based support providers in a variety of settings.
Candidates will be able to implement functional behavior assessments and take these findings to create behavioral intervention plans for teachers, paraeducators and/or BI staff. Experience working with children needing ABA services a must, preferably experience with children with Emotional Disturbances.
Knowledge of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model and be able to work with an interdisciplinary team to make recommendations for system wide and individual needs. Typical schedule is Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm, allowing some flexibility with earlier start or later end times to accommodate school, home, and staff meetings before or after school.

Qualifications
Master’s Degree; or equivalent combination of related education, training and experience. BCBA or BCABA’s, and experience with writing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans are preferred. Will consider candidates working toward their Master's Degree.
