What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Manager position at Northwestern CT YMCA?
Northwest CT YMCA has an opening for a hands-on person responsible for preventive maintenance, project management for repairs, and cleanliness of our Torrington building and property.
Requirements:
- 5 - 10 years building maintenance, repair and project management experience.
- Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Facility Cleaning processes.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Must be able to work independently as well as with team members.
- Experience with problem solving and budget management.
- Have the ability to lift & carry objects over 50 lbs.; climb ladder; stoop, kneel, crouch; possess good vision and hearing.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to operate a pickup truck with a plow.
- High School diploma.
Duties:
- Acts as lead for all facility projects.
- Manages projects, contractors/vendor relationships and ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
- Performs repairs and installations as required on piping, electrical, carpentry, air conditioning, boilers, controls, data/phone lines, swimming pool.
- Supervises Housekeeping and Maintenance staff to ensure all standards are maintained.
