What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial/Maintenance Technician position at Northwestern CT YMCA?
Northwestern CT YMCA has an opening for a responsible, dependable person to perform maintenance, repairs, and janitorial duties.
Requirements:
- 2 years Basic building maintenance and janitorial experience.
- Experience in/basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry.
- Experience with painting and cleaning.
- Must have integrity and ability to work independently.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to communicate effectively while demonstrating Y Core Values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Vacuum / sweep / mop /wax floors in common areas.
- Clean surfaces and equipment.
- Empty trash.
- Light maintenance/repair - paint, wall repair, change light bulbs & ceiling tiles.
- Assist with major repairs of systems & equipment (Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, fitness, fitness equipment).
- Special projects - strip & wax floors, carpet cleaning, high dusting.
- Outside gardening, weeding, light landscaping.
- Shovel snow as needed.
This is a full-time, day shift position , Tuesday - Saturday
