About the Job
We are seeking a Corrosion Aide to join our team at NorthWestern Energy for the upcoming summer. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while working outside, helping to protect our essential underground natural gas system.
Under the direction of the local corrosion technician, you will be performing pipe-to-soil potential readings, which involve accessing customer premises, taking readings at the meter, and downloading information into our database. You will also be involved in other cathodic survey work as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Completing mandatory compliance surveys on corrosion control for steel distribution lines
- Providing assistance to the Division Corrosion Technician on various assigned tasks
- Data entry into a handheld device
- Working 4-10 hour days per week with three-day weekends
- Meeting physical requirements, including walking up to 8 hours per day, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working in inclement weather
- Adhering to company safety standards and Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
Requirements:
- Demonstrating a good safety record
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- The ability to become Operator Qualified for identified tasks (training provided)
- Decent computer skills for data gathering and download
- Reliability and ability to work independently
- Age 18 or older and a high school diploma or equivalent by first day of employment
This is an excellent position for anyone available in the summer with a flexible start date from May 12th to June 10th and working through middle to end of August with the potential to return the following year.
