Temporary Patrolman Operator Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Temporary Patrolman Operator to join our team at NorthWestern Energy. This is a temporary position that will run from May 2025 to November 2025.
About the Job:
The Temporary Patrolman Operator will work on various heavy equipment and assist with all phases of natural gas transmission construction, including operations, maintenance, and emergency call outs. The position reports to Deer Lodge and travels to different job sites within Gas Transmission's Service Territory.
- Perform various labor tasks, including moving sandbags, pipeline skids, sandblasting, coating pipes, painting, hand digging, and bolting flanges while working near active pipelines
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, skid-steers, side booms, and dump trucks
- Monitor and maintain associated equipment as necessary
- Work overtime, including evening and weekend shifts in response to service needs
- Work outdoors in all weather extremes and subject to gas field hazards
- Wear protective equipment and clothing
- Experience working with digging and lifting equipment and hand tools is preferred
- Ability to complete Operator Qualified training and performance tests is required
- Must have a valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record
- CDL is preferred
- Required to complete NorthWestern Energy Gas Operator Qualification and HAZMAT programs within six months of hire
