In addition to these responsibilities, the Patrolman Operator will also participate in rotation schedules, work evenings and weekend shifts in response to acute service needs, and complete NorthWestern Energy Gas Operator Qualification and HAZMAT programs within six months of hire.

The Patrolman Operator will be responsible for:
- Performing labor tasks such as moving sandbags, pipeline skids, and coating pipes, while working near active pipelines transporting gas and other utilities.
- Operating heavy machinery, including excavators, skid-steers, and dump trucks.
- Monitoring and maintaining associated equipment as necessary.
- Working outdoors in all weather extremes, subject to gas field hazards.
- Lifting up to 75 pounds and traveling extensively throughout the region.
