Position Information: NWHSU is pleased to announce an opening for a Sports Resident in our Human Performance Center (HPC). The Sports Resident will be responsible for using their expert knowledge to provide supervision to our clinical interns in the Human Performance field especially sports clinical care, conduct lectures on sports care topics, supervise student research projects, and work collaboratively with faculty and other clinicians. We are seeking someone who can act as an expert on campus in the field of sports and performance all while fostering a student-oriented learning environment through supervision and instruction.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible opportunity. The duration of this residency is expected to be one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Due to the nature of the position some late afternoons, early evenings and occasional Saturdays are expected covering athletic games and supervision.

Work Location: Bloomington, MN in-person

Duties:

• Supervision of clinical interns while providing clinical services to our Human Performance constituents in the field
• Care delivery in the public or Team Clinic
• Design and delivery of lectures in the field of sports care
• Provide sports care coverage as directed for local schools and other athletic teams
• Supervision of HPC Sport Intern students on their research projects, including research question development, method development, analysis, and writing and publication
• Contribute to your own research interests and other projects at the University
• Attend university events such as white coat ceremony, Discovery Day, new student orientation, etc.
• Follow the CCE Residency Program Standards
• Other duties as assigned

What you need to have?

• Doctorate of Chiropractic degree, required
• Active Minnesota DC license in good standing or qualified to obtain a Minnesota chiropractic license
• 0-2 years of experience in sports care

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in a related health care field
• Experience in teaching, student supervision, and research
• Preferred certifications include Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), International Certificate Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 45lbs weight bars and plates

Compensation: $53,500 annually
