What are the responsibilities and job description for the Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider position at Northwestern Medical Center?
The Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner provides non-emergent and occupational health services under the primary administrative supervision of the Medical Director and under the clinical supervision of a licensed physician following established standards and practices.
All positions within Physician Services are expected to cross train to other areas. Each employee will have a dedicated home department but will have the opportunity to float to other areas as needed for coverage and to maintain skills.
- PREREQUISITES
Education : Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Vermont. Physician Assistants must be a graduate of an approved Physician Assistant educational program, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Vermont. PA / NPs must be able to treat patients of all ages. Current certification in ACLS.
Experience : Critical care experience for the management of patients with cardiac issues. Expertise in cardiac monitoring and interpretation required.
