Job Description
The Lead Specimen Processor/Send Outs reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- The lead specimen processor/receiver is responsible for receiving, processing, labeling, and distributing specimens.
- The position requires a thorough understanding of laboratory specimens as well as the HIS/LIS computer systems.
- The lead will work with the supervisor to evaluate staffing and train employees.
- They are responsible for working with the supervisor for oversight of day to day operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Prior experience in laboratory specimen processing department
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- LIC DRIVE
Preferred:
- Three years' experience in a reference lab setting
