Job Description
Northwestern Medicine is actively seeking a full-time, BC/BE, fellowship trained, Consult Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital located in the western suburbs of Chicago. Conveniently located 30 miles west of Chicago, the community is exceptional with excellent schools, parks, restaurants and plenty of amenities. Easy access to Chicago by car or commuter train.
The position:
- This role offers the opportunity to practice hospital-based psychiatry in a well-resourced, non-academic environment that values collaboration, efficiency, and high-quality patient care
- Opportunity to develop and enhance hospital-based mental health initiatives, contributing to process improvements and patient flow
- Program comprised of a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and social workers. The Consult Liaison Psychiatrist physician plays a critical role in providing and supporting this service
- Ability to work in a structured, well-supported, and efficient consultation model with clear workflows
- Employed full-time position with Northwestern Medicine
Ideal candidate:
- Comfortable working in a medically complex patient population, collaborating across specialties in medical floors and Emergency Room
- Strong communication and liaison skills to continue partnerships between psychiatry and medical/surgical teams
