What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Associate position at Northwestern Mutual - Knoxville?
The Operations Associate will be responsible for insurance, annuity, and investment operations, including day-to-day activities and strategic planning within this unique product area. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a team environment, detail-oriented, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
In addition to expertise, knowledge, and experience in insurance and investment operations, the ideal candidate will work with other team members to leverage technology to create and implement business processes for a multi-member team with varying degrees of technology skill.
INSURANCE OPERATIONS:
· Facilitate and assist in the creation of insurance policies, including data gathering and paper/digital signature requests.
· Assist the Financial Advisors teams by creating and modifying insurance and annuity illustrations.
· Proactively communicate with Leadership and appropriate team personnel throughout the implementation process.
· Pre-fill insurance applications (paper and electronic) for execution.
· Schedule medical exams.
· Track insurance production through each stage of execution, as well as pipeline management.
· Manage client correspondence, notes, and files. Must maintain compliant client records.
· Ensure compliance with all new business, including: Replacement, exchange processing and suitability requirements.
· Ensure timely follow-up.
· Update client information as needed across all platforms.
INVESTMENT OPERATIONS:
· Process all Northwestern Mutual Investment Services account forms, obtain client signatures and manage the process through approval and account funding.
· Submit, monitor, and follow up on asset transfers, Roth Conversions, recharacterizations, and initial and subsequent funding of accounts.
· Assist clients in Asset Movement Process.
· Monitor account opening progress. Follow-up as needed to insure timely account approval.
· Ensure all compliance requirements are met throughout all investment processes.
· Update client information across all platforms as needed.
· Manage client correspondence, notes, and files. Must maintain compliant client records.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study.
· Must obtain Life and Accident & Health insurance licensing within 6 months.
· Must obtain FINRA Series 7 and 63 Licensing within 18 months.
· Communication and email skills are critical.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
· Must attend weekly staff meetings as directed by Leadership.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
