The Assistant Director - Enterprise Risk Management will support in driving the enterprise risk management program, with a specific focus on the enterprise risk assessment. Reporting to the Senior Director - Enterprise Risk Management & Integration, the Assistant Director will play a critical role in advancing risk assessment processes, supporting the integration of risk considerations into investable structures, and fostering strong relationships with business partners across the company.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support and execute core enterprise risk management processes, including the following enterprise risk assessment components: organization of focus groups, evaluation of risks, conducting validation discussions, and preparing comprehensive reports.
- Collaborate with and support business level risk management practices, including business level risk assessments, risk philosophies, and risk reporting.
- Assist in driving effective risk response strategies by providing guidance on incorporating risk considerations into the design and maturation of investable structures in collaboration with the Transformation team. This may include support of risk response efforts to reduce "people, process, technology" risks identified through the enterprise risk assessment.
- Aggregate and analyze risk information to support periodic reporting to the Enterprise Risk Executive Committee, quarterly business reviews, and other senior leadership and the Board.
- Utilize analytics capabilities to draw data insights contributing to the development of consistent metrics on risk status.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, business leaders, and risk management teams, to ensure alignment on risk-related objectives and key performance indicators.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives related to risk management, including development and enhancement of the company's risk appetite framework, risk policies, and risk governance structures, while also supporting enterprise risk education and skill strategy advancement.
- Support other Enterprise Risk Management & Resiliency (ERMR) initiatives in coordination with the ERMR leadership team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years' progressive experience in risk management, audit, compliance, or privacy
Required competencies include:
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand the Company's strategic direction and the connection between strategy and risk management.
- Innovation / Transformation: Must be able to operate effectively within, and contribute to, a culture of innovation. Ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to redesign existing processes and/or develop new processes to facilitate transformation within ERMR and the Company.
- Data & Analysis: Established ability to gather, analyze, use, draw conclusions from, and report information collected via quantitative or qualitative methods, and to measure levels of risk over time and against risk appetite, tolerances, and limits, including establishing meaningful metrics.
- Leadership & Communications: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including effective decision making, consultation, and communication (written and oral, with ability to present effectively to a variety of audiences), and NM enterprise savvy to navigate, influence and inform multiple key internal stakeholders
- Advisor: Trusted advisor and builder of strong, collaborative relationships with key business and risk partners to align and deliver on cross functional, enterprise solutions.
- Enterprise Acumen: Strong finance, planning, strategy, and operations skills, including the ability to understand how initiatives drive business outcomes and drive work through the processes and procedures within NM to ensure leadership buy-in and execution quality.
