General Responsibilities
We are looking for a committed individual with strong work ethic to help build and maintain the assets under management for our financial planning, wealth advisory and insurance business. The role works in conjunction with two lead Wealth Management Advisors within Northwestern Mutual’s Wealth Management Company to help manage the existing book of assets, utilize investment software, analyze new prospective client statements to compose take-over analyses, work with our team to execute trades, stay up to date on relevant market news and make relevant recommendations.
Investment Analysis and Proposal Generation
· Gain an understanding our of team’s financial planning philosophy, investment philosophy and tax strategies to implement on behalf of our clients
· Help build/perfect our team’s take-over analyses and investment proposals for new potential clients
· Utilize software such as Bloomberg, Morningstar, Y-Charts, Envestnet2 and Microsoft Excel to analyze existing client portfolios and new potential client portfolios
· Lead individual portfolio construction and analysis
· Condense information into an easy-to-understand format for presentation purposes
Portfolio Maintenance, Rebalancing and Risk Management
· Help manage our existing book of Assets
· Ensure proper allocations within portfolios
· Propose and execute trades as needed with the consensus of our investment committee, including opportunistic rebalancing and tax loss harvesting
· Drive risk-adjusted returns for our clients
Market Analysis
· Stay current on up-to-date market news and provide feedback about market trends
Track for Team Goals
· Track and measure Assets Under Management growth
· Track for team goals to be a leading wealth management practice in our company’s system
· Willing to introduce new potential clients to our team as appropriate
Qualifications include
· 5 years Financial Service industry experience
· CFA® Charterholder
· Series 7 licensed
· Fluent in the use of Microsoft Excel modeling and analysis
· Familiar with utilizing a Bloomberg terminal
· Learn internal trading systems and portfolio management systems
· Extremely organized and detail oriented
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Ability to take independent action to make sound decisions with little oversight
· Ability to work effectively with people at all levels
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize
