Managing Director
General Responsibilities:
The Managing Director (MD) at Northwestern Mutual is responsible for leading and developing a team of financial advisors and representatives within a specified geographic area. The MD plays a critical role in driving the growth of the office, ensuring exceptional client service, and maintaining adherence to the company's values and business practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Development
· Recruit, train, and mentor a team of financial representatives and advisors to build a productive and cohesive team.
· Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to all team members to ensure professional development and achievement of business objectives.
· Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement development plans to support career growth.
Business Development
· Drive business growth by setting and achieving sales targets, expanding the client base, and increasing market penetration.
· Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
· Foster relationships with key community stakeholders, business leaders, and industry partners to enhance the company’s presence and reputation in the market.
Client Service
· Ensure the delivery of high-quality client service by overseeing the client experience and ensuring client needs are met.
· Resolve complex client issues and ensure client satisfaction.
· Promote a client-first culture by modeling and reinforcing the importance of client relationships.
· Operational Management
· Manage the daily operations of the office, including budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
· Monitor and analyze business metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Financial Oversight
· Oversee financial performance, including revenue generation, expense management, and profitability.
· Develop and manage office budgets and financial plans.
· Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications
· SIE, Series 7, Series 63
· Life and Health License
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®) preferred.
· Proven experience in a leadership or management role within the financial services industry.
· Demonstrable success in recruiting, developing, and leading high-performing teams.
· Strong track record of achieving business growth and financial targets.
· In-depth knowledge of financial planning, insurance products, and investment strategies.
· Exceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
