Northwestern Mutual - SD is seeking a dynamic and versatile professional to join our team as a Talent Acquisition and Marketing Specialist. In this role, you will lead all aspects of recruitment, selection, and talent acquisition while also helping with the coordination of marketing initiatives. This role will also be charged with creating compelling graphic designs. This position is crucial for driving the success of our firm and will report directly to the Managing Director (MD), Lucas Bruns and Chief Recruitment Officer (CRO), Kristin Hoefert.


Key Responsibilities


Recruitment:

  • Develop and execute innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring candidates.
  • Build and develop effective referral sources within the office, community advocates, and other sources to generate qualified leads.
  • Create and lead recruiting strategies to reach activity and contract goals.
  • Coordinate and collaborate on recruitment marketing strategies.
  • Maintain integrity and consistency of the recruitment process; communicate with candidates at each step.
  • Manage the transition of candidates from recruitment to onboarding.


Marketing Coordination:

  • Execute on the social media strategy, creating and scheduling posts to increase engagement and brand awareness.
  • Tactical execution of the marketing plan for the entire network office.
  • Facilitate marketing education and training for select financial advisors, their marketing teams, and the network office.
  • Support the execution of brand-building events.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Aberdeen district office.
  • Collaborate with internal advising teams to assist in create marketing materials, presentations, and promotional content.


Graphic Design

  • Create visually appealing and brand-consistent graphics for digital, print, and social media platforms.
  • Develop and design graphics, illustrations, logos, and other visual elements.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity across all platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a library of design templates and assets for use by the team.
  • Stay updated on design trends and best practices to continuously improve the quality of visual content.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Business, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other design tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design.
  • Strong network of personal/professional advocates or community involvement
  • Experience with social media management tools and sourcing platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake).
  • 2-5 years marketing experience
  • Comfortable leading teams and individuals toward goals, utilizing interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and take independent action to make sound decisions with minimal oversight
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels; maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media technologies (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, IG, and Twitter)
  • Strong communication skills required with the ability to build rapport and influence others
  • Experience with prospecting; generating leads via phone or face-to-face interactions preferred
