The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Investment Associate / Paraplanner to join our growing personalized wealth management practice. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organization skills, and a desire for professional growth in the wealth management industry. The right candidate will proactively anticipate and prioritize the needs of those being supported and demonstrate sound judgement. We are looking for someone who can thrive under pressure, is comfortable managing competing priorities and adopts a risk and control mindset in their approach.
This is an in-office position. Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. There is potential for some flexibility in the future for the right candidate, after becoming an established associate.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Processing:
- Preparing and processing all paperwork needed for investment accounts and annuities.
- Identify and follow proper protocol to achieve each transaction type compliantly (back-door ROTHS, ACATs vs. rollovers vs. mutual fund transfers, recharacterizations, removals of excess, etc.).
- Communicating with clients to obtain required information, set appropriate expectations and keep work items moving efficiently.
- Monitoring, processing, and following up on asset transfers, funding of accounts (initial & ongoing), and implementing all trades (initial & subsequent) as directed by the financial representatives.
Investment monitoring & support:
- Preparing and modifying financial plans for new and existing clients. Assisting financial representatives with case design - modeling outcomes and proposing alternative paths to produce higher potential success rates.
- Create investment proposals, monitor account alerts, and ensure required review timelines are met.
- Executing buy, sell and rebalancing orders in Envestnet, NetX360, and through fund partner companies.
- Following up on trade rejects, insufficient fund alerts and resolving all trade-related issues with urgency.
- Completing research and analysis on both internal and outside portfolios and assisting in development and presentation creation of recommendations for clients, including monitoring holdings for program eligibility requirements.
- Running performance reports in Envestnet, Morningstar, NMCIR, etc. and assisting with meeting preparation as requested.
- Communicate timely and efficiently with advisors, associates, and clients.
Client Service:
- Provide exceptional and professional client service, written and verbal, to handle investment related service or issues.
- Completing contribution and distribution requests, including trades, while maintaining appropriate asset allocations.
- Support and communication for 401(k) participant requests, account reviews & processing items.
- Discussing tax consequences, advisory fees, transaction costs, etc. with clients and financial advisors.
- Completing rollover processing calls or online transactions with clients (bringing assets to our firm).
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of industry experience: financial processing, financial planning, etc.
- Must be investment licensed: Series 6 & 63 minimum (series 7 preferred) with a clean compliance record.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

- Highly organized: ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize them appropriately.
- Self-starter: ability to work independently in a task focused environment (CRM based system).
- Ability to learn/understand complex topics, then communicate them simply and efficiently will be a major factor in the future growth trajectory for this position.
Starting pay will be based on job specific experience and industry related credentialling.
