What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Police Officer position at Northwestern School District?
Location: Northwestern School District, Albion, PA
Positions available beginning immediately
Qualifications for School Police Officer (SPO):-
- Act 120 Municipal Police Training or equivalent
- Act 235 Lethal Weapons training
- Act 67 NASRO or equivalent training
- All PA required clearances (Act 34 PA State Police Request for Criminal Records Check, Act 151 DHS Child Abuse History Clearance, Act 114 Federal Criminal History Record Information)
The confidential employee position is contracted for 205 days per school year (or 1640 hours), 5 days per week, 8.0 hours per day with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch, and extra curricular events as needed. The starting salary is $52,000 annually. Duties will be as designated or assigned by the Superintendent and School Safety and Security Coordinator.
Candidate must :
- Possess strong social skills to build mutually respected relationships with administration, faculty, staff, students, parents and community
- Be educationally focused
- Be able to develop a strong working relationship with the Pennsylvania State Police.
Candidate must also have or be willing to obtain required training for Act 126 (mandatory reporting), and process disclosures for Act 168 and Act 24. ALICE training is preferred.
