What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Process Technician position at Northwire Inc.?
Objective:
Fast-paced and rapidly changing, Northwire designs and manufactures custom, made-to-order products for a diverse range of industries. Successful team members will need to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, a positive attitude, and exacting attention to detail. This position provides technical support for operators, sales, and engineering on machine, equipment, and material processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for operators explaining and demonstrating the operation of equipment, material processing, and safety in material handling
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations on process and quality improvement to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations
- Equipment updates
- Improves processing of equipment
- Actively communicates with Production, Sales, and Management
- Participates in daily meetings
- Produces reporting as needed
- Practices the 5's 1 methodology on the assigned area and common areas
- All other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
Working within an air-conditioned production/manufacturing environment. Walking surfaces are cement flooring with anti-fatigue mats. Must be able to work in a standard office environment with shared desk areas, seated for extended periods of time. PPE required: Steel toe shoes and safety glasses.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, walk, and bend. Must be able to work onsite.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED. Technical degree preferred.
- Five years manufacturing experience preferred. Wire and cable manufacturing experience desired. Training in problem-solving skills (PDCA).
