What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift VQC Operator position at Northwire, Inc.?
Summary/Objective:
The VQC Inspector shall support quality department activities through direct involvement in product inspection and documentation management. This role will communicate with assembly, manufacturing and / or engineering personnel regarding product conformance related topics.
Essential Functions:
1.) Perform VQC inspection activities on finished product using high voltage test equipment.
2.) Generate NCM reports and move material as necessary.
3.) Complete identified cross training with internal resources on personal areas of expertise.
4.) Practice the 5s 1 methodology in the assigned area and common areas.
5.) Manage all other duties as identified and required.

Work Environment:
Standard manufacturing production environment utilizing the proper PPE.
Physical Demands:
Sit, stand and walk for 8 hours per shift or more if shift is extended. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must have the ability to do repetitive hand work with frequent handling, using fingers to feel, and wrists to twist and turn(dexterity). Ability and agility to work with both hands, frequently required be capable to listen to alarms, talk or listen to fellow Team Members. Must have the ability to see with 20/20 vision (can be assisted with glasses or contact lenses) and the ability to distinguish between different colors. Able to wear PPE as needed: (e.g. safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, standard work gloves, heat sleeves, other).
Expected Hours of Work:
Hours of work and days are 4pm-12am midnight, Monday through Friday and may vary based on business needs.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Required Experience:
2 years’ manufacturing experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications or Certifications:
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (preferred)
