DIVISION : OPERATIONS / ENERGY SERVICES
REPORTS TO : CHIEF ENGINEER
POSITION BRIEF :
Responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance work on in-house equipment and buildings. Assist in directing activities of HVAC contractors engaged in repair, maintenance and installation activities for properties assigned to them.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Works closely with Chief Engineer to coordinate activities of support personnel.
- Must have a good working knowledge of Cooling Towers, Pumps, AHU's, RTU's, VAV's, PIU's, Split Systems and other HVAC equipment.
- Help improve existing procedures by examples and recommendations.
- Assist other operations personnel as needed.
- Facilitate compliance with job specifications, company policy and procedures.
- Set personal goals and document 20 hours of relatable training annually.
- Help implement preventive maintenance programs on mechanical equipment and building maintenance.
- Review work orders to determine work priorities as needed.
- Help with chemical application on cooling towers.
- Assist in executing work activities in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide leadership and direction by example to fellow employees.
- Must have good working knowledge of building automation systems. Tridium and Trane Synchrony experience preferred.
- Five Years HVAC experience in commercial systems preferred.
- Microsoft applications experience preferred.
- Good listening and communication skills are essential to this position.
- CFC certification preferred.
- Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, as needed, as well as variable shifts and emergency on-call rotation.
- Ability to lift 50 lb., work on ladders, man lifts, in and above ceiling space, and small spaces or roof access spaces.
- High school degree or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid US State Driver-s license or an international driver-s license
- Previous experience in hotel maintenance or engineering
- Knowledge of computers
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Possess a good command of the English language and ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate with guests, both in person and by telephone
- Knowledge of local, state and federal laws concerning the engineering department
