Location: Properties will be primarily in the Chapel Hill- Durham area

Primary Responsibilities:  

The Security Systems Technician position is responsible for performing skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of access control, video security and other low voltage physical security systems. 

• Service physical security systems including CCTV and IP video, access control, intrusion detection, communications, and other low-voltage systems and associated panels, components, devices, etc.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in system components or wiring, including identifying and installing replacement parts as necessary
• Install head-end equipment, panels, components and associated devices
• Maintain ticketing system by tracking and documenting developments
• Respond to security issues by reviewing and archiving video footage and auditing access control systems.
• Provide property management staff with technical support & training.
• Coordinate with 3^rd party security systems service providers
• Network cabling, installation, & troubleshooting.
• Proficient with LAN, routers, switches, and other networking devices.
• Install upgrades and updates on client and server applications.
• Experienced in low voltage wiring, network cabling and wireless equipment
• Daily travel to NWR properties in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region

What you bring to the role:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2 years of CCTV and Access Control systems experience highly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret building floor plans and diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical door hardware and accessories
• Availability to occasionally work overtime
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment (~75lbs Network Racks, etc.)
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools and test equipment.
• Must be able to stand & walk for extended periods.
