Northwoods Animal Hospital - Minocqua, WI , is excited to add another member to our team! We are looking for full-time Certified or Registered Veterinary Technicians. We live and work in a beautiful place. People that enjoy outdoor activities love living in the Northwoods. Our practice is one of the oldest, most established in the area with many long-time clients. We have a very collaborative team of great DVMs & support staff that foster a collaborative, learning environment.

Applicants need to have a strong work ethic, provide compassionate customer service, have a positive attitude, and work well as a team while being self-motivated in a fast-paced environment. Good computer and communication skills are a must to maintain medical records and instruct clients with individualized pet care needs.
$500 sign on bonus
Pay: $19-23 per hour
Hours of operation: M-F 8a-5p, Sat 8a-12p

Essential Functions:
- Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
- Be able to accurately position for radiographs
- Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
- Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
- Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education
- Must be able to draw blood, Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Assist in maintaining practice equipment
- Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
- Assist with euthanasia, dental cleanings, trim toenails, administration of medication,
- Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfaces
- Must be able to fill prescriptions, check pets in/out for appointments and boarding.
- Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
- Any other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications
- Previous veterinary medicine experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 40 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 40 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
