Job Summary
Northwoods Foster Services is a family group home with 4 male clients ranging from 25-60 years of age. All clients are independent, have no aggressive behaviors, and do not require any transfers. Our group home is located in Harris, MN. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and support to individuals with varying needs. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting them with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their independence. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others. We are hiring with availability for the following positions:
OVERNIGHTS
Overnights FRI/SAT 10pm to 6am (can be every weekend or an every other weekend rotation)--May have other night shift hours available if more hours are needed (Thurs/Sun)
This home does have pets, so must be comfortable around pets and not allergic to dogs/cats.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs.
- Provide patient monitoring to ensure the well-being and safety of clients at all times.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Document client progress and any changes in behavior or condition as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in direct support, home health, or long-term care is preferred but not required.
- Cooking/cleaning skills
- Med administration experience
- Strong communication skills.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others
- Dependable with a strong work ethic, team-player
- Certification in CPR/First Aid may be required based on specific client needs.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Must pass DHS background check.
