Job Summary
The Home Health Aide plays a crucial role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in their homes or assisted living facilities. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. We do have a house dog who is at Northwoods Memory Care Suites.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and guidelines.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to clients' dietary needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times.
- Perform catheter care and other specialized health-related tasks as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any changes in client condition or needs.
- Support clients with developmental disabilities by promoting independence and enhancing daily living skills.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and vital sign monitoring.
- Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary requirements.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or similar qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
