The level of this position will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We are open to considering candidates of varying experience levels, from mid-career to principal.
Role :
Northwood is looking for a Lead Hardware Development Engineer to to drive the development of our digital compute and power electronics. The digital backend ensures our antenna system can meet high rate processing needs no matter where it's deployed. Our hardware team prioritizes excellent engineering, building end products that are known for their reliability, scalability, and cost.
Responsibilities :
- Drive electrical design for high speed digital communication systems. Implementing RF and mixed-signal designs into complex multilayer PCBs
- Work with high power (100kW power systems), 100G high speed networking, and drive system trades for architecture
- Layout and bring up of FPGAs, microcontrollers, and their associated peripherals
- Working across teams with RF engineers, antenna engineers, and DSP / FPGA engineers to optimize system performance and overall design
- Perform schematic design and layout alongside board bring up and validation
- Test prototypes and assess performance in the lab and in the field

Compensation is determined by role, level, location. and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, and technical capabilities.
