Role :
Northwood is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team, specializing in the design of mechanical structures for our phased array ground station antennas. This role will involve designing and developing hardware that will be deployed all over the world as well as fabrication tooling, assembly tooling, and test fixtures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including RF engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and software engineers.
Responsibilities :
- Design mechanical structures, electro-mechanical integrations, and thermal solutions for phased array ground station antennas, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Develop and design tooling for fabrication and assembly processes, including test fixtures.
- Collaborate with RF, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration of designs with overall system requirements.
- Optimization of designs for cost, performance, and manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical, thermal, and environmental design.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to ensure design objectives are met.
